Objective To study the effect mechanism of Azdrostatin combined with Shufeng Qingre formula in the treatment of pediatric allergic conjunctivitis. Methods 80 cases of patients with pediatric allergic conjunctivitis admitted to Zibo Maternal and Child Health Hospital from January 2021 to December 2022 were selected for prospective study, and were divided into two groups randomly by using lottery method. The control group was treated with Azazelastine, while the observation group was treated with Shufeng Qingre Formula on the basis of Azazelastine. The corneal fluorescein staining test (FL) score, tear film break time (BUT) , the symptom score were compared between the two groups. The tear immunoglobulin A (IgE), eosinophil cationic protein (ECP), leukotriene B4 (LTB4) and histamine (HA) levels were detected and compared between the two groups. Results The effective rate of the observation group was significantly higher than control group (P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference in FL score and BUT between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment, the FL score and BUT of both groups were significantly improved (P<0.05), and the FL score and BUT of the observation group were significantly better (P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference in the scores of eye itching, burning pain, eyelid swelling, tearing, fear of light, friction, and foreign body sensation between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment, the scores of the symptom above between the two groups were significantly reduced (P<0.05), and the scores of the symptom above in the observation group were lower (P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference in the levels of tear IgE, ECP, LTB4, and HA between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment, the levels of tear IgE, ECP, LTB4, and HA in both groups were significantly reduced (P<0.05), and the levels of tear IgE, ECP, LTB4, and HA in the observation group were lower (P<0.05). Conclusion The combination of Azostatin and Shufeng Qingre Formula has a better therapeutic effect on pediatric allergic conjunctivitis, which can significantly alleviate symptoms and promote the recovery of tear film stability. Its mechanism may be related to the reduction of tear IgE, ECP, LTB4, and HA levels.
