Objective To explore the clinical effect and value of conventional western medicine combined with desensitization Tongbi prescription in the treatment of allergic rhinitis (lung deficiency and cold syndrome) children. Methods The research time range was determined from January 2020 to October 2021. The research subjects selected 100 children with allergic rhinitis (lung deficiency and cold syndrome), which were admitted to the Liuhe District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Nanjing. The 100 children were randomly divided into two groups, namely observation group and control group, with 50 children in each group. The control group was treated with conventional western medicine (desloratadine dry suspension and mometasone furoate nasal spray), and the observation group was treated with desensitization Tongbi prescription. Then the treatment effect was compared, and the improvement of symptom scores (nasal itching, nasal congestion, runny nose, sneezing) of the two groups before and after treatment was evaluated. The changes in the levels of inflammation [tumor necrosis factor (TNF-α), interleukin (IL-4), interleukin (IL-5), and interleukin 10(IL-10)] in the two groups before and after treatment were detected. Results The total effective rate of clinical treatment in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, and the difference was significant (P<; 0.05), and the measurement results of inflammatory indexes in the observation group after treatment were lower than those in the control group, and the difference was significant (P<; 0.05). Conclusion Pediatric allergic rhinitis (lung deficiency and cold syndrome) can be treated by western medicine combined with desensitization Tongbi prescription, which has a definite effect on improving the symptoms of children and regulating the level of inflammation.
