Abstract: Objective To investigate the effect of two-dimensional code video-assisted functional exercise in improving the application effect of splint external fixation in patients with distal radius fracture (DRF). Methods A total of 100 patients with DRF who received splint external fixation in the hospital from March 2019 to March 2022 were selected and divided into control group (n=50) and study group (n=50) by random number table method. The patients in the control group were given functional exercise therapy, and the patients in the research group were given two-dimensional code video-assisted therapy on the basis of the control group. The wrist performance, wrist mobility, participation, compliance and quality of life were compared between the two groups. Results The overall compliance rate of patients in the study group was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). After 3 months of treatment, the Gartland-Werley wrist joint score, palmar inclination angle, ulnar declination angle, grip strength and 36-item short form survey (SF-36) scores in the two groups were all higher than those before treatment (P<0.05). The objective, subjective and total scores of Gartland-Werley wrist joint score, wrist palm inclination angle, ulnar declination angle, grip strength and SF-36 score in the study group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Two-dimensional code video-assisted functional exercise can effectively improve the participation and compliance of patients with DRF splint external fixation, improve wrist function, and improve the quality of life of patients.
