Abstract: Objective To observe the curative effect of external application of Jinhuang Powder on ankle fracture in the waiting period. Methods A total of 100 patients with ankle fracture to be treated in Gongshu District People's Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine from August 2021 to December 2022 were selected. According to different treatment methods, 50 patients were included in the control group and 50 patients in the observation group. The control group was treated with routine treatment, and the observation group was treated with routine treatment and external application of Jinhuang powder. For the local skin temperature, the circumference of the affected ankle joint, the degree of swelling, the score of the degree of pain, the index of pain medium (substance P, 5-hydroxytryptamine, norepinephrine) Pain relief effect and inflammatory factor level (hypersensitive C-reactive protein, interleukin-6, tumor necrosis factor-α). Results The local skin temperature of the observation group on the 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th day of treatment was lower than that of the control group (P<0.05); The circumference of the affected ankle in the observation group on the 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th day of treatment was smaller than that in the control group (P<0.05); after treatment, the constituent ratio of mild swelling in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05), and the constituent ratio of severe swelling was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). There was no difference between the two groups in moderate swelling (P>0.05); the VAS score of the observation group after treatment was lower than that of the control group (P<0.05); the levels of substance P, 5-hydroxytryptamine and norepinephrine in the observation group after treatment were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05); the total effective rate of pain relief in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05); the level of hypersensitivity C-reactive protein, interleukin-6, tumor necrosis factor in the observation group after treatment-α was lower than that of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion The external application of Jinhuangsan has a significant effect on the treatment of ankle fracture to be operated. It can stabilize the skin temperature of the affected area, reduce the circumference of the affected ankle joint, reduce the degree of swelling and pain, and improve the indicators of pain mediators and reduce the level of inflammatory factors to a certain extent. The pain relief effect is good, which can be popularized and applied.
