Research Progress on the Effect of Exercise Therapy on Diabetes Peripheral Neuropathy

Abstract: Patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) often present with pain, numbness, paresthesia starting in the distal part of the foot and associated with decreased mobility and increased risk of ulceration and amputation. Exercise therapy is used a form of exercise to improve the disease state. This review focuses on the effects of exercise therapy on symptoms, neurological function, gait stability, balance ability, and quality of life in DPN. It is designed to provide a basis for the rehabilitation treatment of DPN.
