Effect of Acupoint Scraping Combined with Traditional Chinese Medicine Hot Package on Defecation Function of Patients with Gastrointestinal Dysfunction after General Surgery

Abstract: Objective To investigate the application effect of acupoint gua sha combined with traditional Chinese medicine hot bao in patients with gastrointestinal dysfunction after laparoscopic surgery in general surgery. Methods A retrospective analysis was performed on the medical records of 84 patients with gastrointestinal dysfunction after laparoscopic general surgery admitted to Pingyi County Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from March 2020 to March 2022, and divided into two groups according to different treatment methods. Among them, 40 patients who underwent conventional Western medicine treatment were included in the control group, while 44 patients who underwent acupoint gua sha combined with traditional Chinese medicine hot bambao were included in the observation group, all of whom were treated for 2 weeks and observed 1 month after treatment. The clinical efficacy, symptom improvement, recovery and quality of life of the two groups were compared. Results The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, and the recovery time of bowel sounds, exhaust time, defecation time and activity time were shorter than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). Before treatment, there were no significant differences (P>0.05) between the two groups compared with the scores of each dimension in the health survey brief table (SF-36); After treatment, the scores of constipation, poor appetite, nausea and vomiting and abdominal distension in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the scores of all dimensions in SF-36 were higher than those in the control group,with a statistically significant difference (P<0.05). Conclusion Acupoint gua sha+traditional Chinese medicine hot bag in the treatment of patients with gastrointestinal dysfunction after laparoscopic general surgery has obvious effects,which can significantly alleviate its clinical manifestations, accelerate the improvement of bowel function,and then effectively improve the quality of life, which is worthy of vigorous clinical promotion.
