Abstract: Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of Bushen Tongli decoction combined with extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) in the treatment of damp-heat accumulation syndrome of upper urinary tract calculi. Methods This study included 100 patients with upper urinary tract calculi who were treated with ESWL in Chuzhou Integrated Hospital of Anhui University of traditional Chinese Medicine in 2023. They were randomly divided into treatment group (n=50) and control group (n=50). Both groups received routine postoperative treatment, and the treatment group was treated with Bushen Tongli decoction on the basis of routine treatment until 14 days after operation, and the therapeutic effects of the two groups were compared. Results After treatment, the symptoms scores of urine pain, abnormal urination, low back pain and frequent urination in the treatment group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). The observation group was superior to the control group in the overall effective rate(P<0.05). The adverse reactions in the treatment group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.05). The levels of serum creatinine, blood urea nitrogen and C-reactive protein were decreased in both groups, and the above indexes in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion Bushen Tongli decoction combined with ESWL in the treatment of upper urinary tract calculi patients, not only improve the clinical symptoms, and improve the cure rate, showing an excellent treatment effect, is a clinical treatment method worth popularizing.
