Abstract: Objective Compared with conventional Western medicine, the clinical efficacy of treating allergic rhinitis patients with lung-spleen qi deficiency syndrome using heat-sensitive moxibustion combined with Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang was observed. Methods Randomized controlled trial design was adopted. Sixty eligible subjects were included. They were divided into two groups by random number table method. Experimental group (n=30) : heat-sensitive moxibustion combined with Buzhong Yiqi decoction; Control group (n=30) : the conventional antiallergic drug loratadine. Both groups were treated once a day, 5 times/week, 10 times as a course of treatment. Total Nasal Symptom Score (TNSS) , Total Non-Nasal Symptom Score (TNNSS), nasal conjunctivitis Quality of Life scale (RQLQ) and clinical efficacy were evaluated after a total of 2 courses of treatment. Results Before intervention, there was no significant difference in age, gender, TNSS score, RQLQ score and TNNSS score between the two groups (P>0.05). After the intervention, the experimental group showed superior improvements in TNSS, TNNSS, and RQLQ scores compared with the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05).The total effective rate of the experimental group was 90.00%, higher than that of the control group 76.67%, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Heat sensitive moxibustion combined with Buzhong Yiqi Decoction in the treatment of allergic rhinitis lung qi deficiency syndrome of clinical advantage.
