Abstract: Objective This paper aims to analyze the current research status, hot topics, and development trends in the field of Dai medicine from a literature mining perspective, providing theoretical support for the formulation of strategies to promote the high-quality development of Dai medicine. Methods Research papers related to Dai medicine, indexed by China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), were selected for analysis. Data on publication year, authors, institutions, and keywords were collected, and bibliometric analysis was conducted using NoteExpress, CiteSpace, and VOSviewer software. Results A total of 1285 papers were included in the analysis. The research is mainly concentrated in Yunnan Province, forming a collaborative network centered around teams such as that of Lin Yanfang, with Yunnan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Xishuangbanna Dai Medicine Hospital as the core institutions. The research focuses on three main areas: Dai medicine literature and theoretical research, clinical application evaluations, and the chemical composition and quality standards research of Dai medicinal herbs. Conclusion Significant progress has been made in Dai medicine research, with the formation of stable research teams and well-defined research themes. However, the current research is limited in terms of geographical scope and focus. With the accelerated development of the broader framework for high-quality traditional Chinese medicine, academic efforts should focus on the integration of Dai medicine with traditional Chinese medicine, and work toward advancing both the inheritance and innovation of China's traditional medicine.
