Abstract: Chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG) is a common gastric precancerous disease closely related to gastric cancer. Modern medicine lacks effective treatment methods, and traditional Chinese medicine has outstanding advantages. Director Li Hui, based on years of experience, believes that the pathogenesis of this disease is based on qi deficiency and dampness and stasis. The basic treatment should focus on strengthening the spleen and stomach, dispelling dampness and unblocking collaterals. Clinical use of modified Shidan granules and a combination of traditional Chinese and Western medicine has yielded satisfactory results. This article summarizes Director Li Hui's experience in combining traditional Chinese and Western medicine to treat CAG, for reference by colleagues.
