Abstract: Objective Around the singleton birth for the first time, the second stage of labor to evaluate the effect and its role in improving the SRQ and negative mood score. Methods Seventy cases of singleton primiparas admitted to Wuchuan County People's Hospital from August 2022 to August 2023 were selected as the research objects, and divided into control group and observation group according to the random number table method, with 35 cases in each group. The control group received routine nursing care during the second stage of childbirth, while the observation group received nursing intervention based on this.Delivery-related indicators, psychological stress response scores, negative mood scores, and adverse maternal and infant outcomes were compared between the two groups. Results The second stage of labor, total duration of labor and hospital stay in the observation group were shorter than the control group, which the difference was significant (P<0.05).The self-assessment questionnaire (SRQ), anxiety (SAS) and depression (SDS) were lower than the control group (P<0.05).In terms of the incidence of adverse maternal and infant outcomes, the observation group was slightly lower than the control group, but the difference was not significant (P>0.05). Conclusion Implementing nursing interventions for first-time natural delivery mothers with single pregnancies using the empowerment incentive model can shorten their second stage of labor, total stage of labor, and hospital stay, and help alleviate their psychological stress reactions, reduce negative emotions, improve comfort, and improve maternal and infant outcomes.
