Abstract: Objective To study the effect of combined treatment with Huazhuoxingxue Decoction on lipid metabolism and serum high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) in patients with primary hyperlipidemia. Methods A total of 80 patients with primary hyperlipidemia were selected from June 2021 to May 2022 in Weifang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Using the random number table method, they were divided into a control group (40 cases) and an observation group (40 cases). Patients in the control group received routine treatment, while those in the observation group received routine treatment combined with Huazhuoxingxue Decoction. The levels of total cholesterol(TC), triglyceride(TG), high density lipid-cholesterol(HDL-C), low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C), and hs-CRP before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. The TCM syndrome scores of obesity, drowsiness, and physical laziness before and after treatment were evaluated and compared between the two groups. Results Before treatment, there was no difference in the levels of blood lipid level between the two groups ( P>0.05). Following treatment, the levels of TC, TG, and LDL-C in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, while the level of HDL-C was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05). Prior to treatment, there was no difference in the levels of hs-CRP between the two groups(P>0.05). Following treatment, the level of hs-CRP in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no difference in the TCM syndrome scores of obesity, drowsiness, and physical laziness between the two groups(P> 0.05). After treatment, the TCM syndrome scores of obesity, drowsiness, and the levels of physical laziness in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion Routine treatment combined with Huazhuoxingxue Decoction can effectively improve lipid metabolism disorder and reduce systemic inflammation response, thereby relieving TCM syndrome and is worth promoting for patients with primary hyperlipidemia.
