Abstract: Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of internal fixation of miniature steel plate combined with ‘surgical shujin washing’ fumigation in the treatment of metacarpal fracture. Methods Select January 2020-202365 patients with metacarpal fracture admitted to Heyuan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2020 to January 2023 were selected as the study objects, and all of them were treated with microplate fixation after surgery. Random number table method grouping, control group (33 cases), observation group (32 cases, add surgical shujin wash fumigation treatment), 3 months after the intervention, compare the fracture healing effects, hand function recovery effects, and quality of life scores between two groups of patients. Results The FMA hand function scores of both groups were significantly higher after treatment, and the observation group was higher than the control group, the TCM evidence scores were lower, and the observation group was lower than the control group, and the difference was statistically significant（P<0.05）, the fracture healing time and the time for TAM to return to the normal range of motion of the observation group was shorter than that of the control group （P<0.05）, at the end of intervention, PSQI score of observation group was lower than that of control group, and ESCA score was higher than that of control group（P<0.05）. Conclusion After internal fixation of metacarpal fracture with microplates, the addition of ‘Surgical Shujin Wash’ fumigation can accelerate the speed of fracture recovery, promote the healing of fracture foci, control the incidence of postoperative complications, and ensure the recovery of the metacarpal bone, which is of value for popularisation.
