Abstract: Objective To investigate the mental health status and sleep characteristics of medical staff in Nanning City, in order to develop intervention measures to help them recover a good psychological state. Methods A questionnaire survey was conducted on 175 medical staff using a general information questionnaire, the Symptom Checklist-90 (SCL-90), and the Athens Insomnia Scale (AIS) to analyze their psychological symptoms and sleep status characteristics. Results The scores of SCL-90 somatization, interpersonal sensitivity, hostility, and paranoia among medical staff were higher than the national norm, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05); AIS results showed that 45.14% of 175 people had no sleep disorders, 21.72% had suspected insomnia, and 33.14% had insomnia; The differential analysis of SCL90, AIS factor scores, and general demographic data among medical staff suggests that female medical staff have higher scores in interpersonal sensitivity factors than males, and unmarried and non solitary individuals have higher rates of insomnia than married and solitary individuals, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).
