Abstract: Objective To investigate the value of the penta-test(penta-test) for vaginitis combined with microscopic microscopy(microscopy) in the diagnosis of vaginitis in infertile women. Methods A total of 226 infertile female patients with suspected vaginitis attending Jiuquan People's Hospital from January 2020 to December 2023 were selected for the study, and all of them underwent microscopic microscopic examination of vaginal secretions (for bacterial, trichomonas, candida, and leukocyte counts) with the vaginitis penta-test (a penta-test kit was used to test the specimens for six indices: pH value, level of leukocyte esterase, hydrogen peroxide, and proline aminopeptidase, sialidase, and acetylaminoglucosidase), and compare the positive detection rates of microscopy, penta-test and the combined test for vaginitis. To compare the diagnostic efficacy of the three different tests for vaginitis and the detection rates of different pathogens of vaginitis. Results 226 seventy-two cases of vaginitis were diagnosed in infertile female patients with suspected vaginitis, with a detection rate of 31.86%. 49 cases were detected positively by the microscopic method, 60 cases were detected positively by the penta-test method, and 68 cases were detected positively by the combined test, and the sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of the combined test were significantly higher than that of the microscopic method and the penta-test method (P<0.05). The difference in the detection rate of bacteria and trichomonas was not statistically significant when comparing the detection rates of the combined test and the pentameric method (P>0.05). Conclusion Vaginitis 5 combined with microscopic examination can increase the positive detection rate of vaginitis and the detection rate of different pathogens of vaginitis, and the diagnostic efficacy is higher.
