Abstract: Objective To study the therapeutic effect of modified external stripping and internal ligation combined with elastic wire ligation on patients with mixed hemorrhoids. Methods The 76 mixed hemorrhoids patients treated in Linyi Central Hospital from March 2022 to March 2023 were selected as the study subjects. And they were divided into two groups according to the order of admission. According to the order of patients' admission, they were divided into two groups A and B. Group A underwent traditional external stripping and ligation, while Group B underwent modified external stripping and ligation combined with elastic line ligation. The clinical indicators, main symptom scores, surgical treatment effect and postoperative complications of groups A and B were compared. Results The intraoperative bleeding in group A was greater than that in group B, significant (P<0.05). Operation duration, healing time and hospital stay in Group A were longer than Group B (P<0.05). Surgical wound pain and anal margin edema were more severe in group A than in group B (P<0.05). No significant difference was found between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion The improved external stripping and internal ligation combined with elastic wire ligation for mixed hemorrhoids is highly safe and can achieve ideal treatment results.
