Abstract: Objective To observe the effect of acupuncture combined with acupuncture in patients with depression and chronic pain. Methods A total of 80 patients with depression and chronic pain admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University from January 2020 to January 2023 were selected as the research subjects of this paper, Divided into study and control groups according to the randomization method, Of 40 patients in each group, Of which the control group was treated with paroxetine hydrochloride, The study group received acupuncture treatment combined with liver capsule on the basis of the control group, Compare the treatment effect of the two patient groups, The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) was used to evaluate patient sleep quality before and after the intervention, The Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD), social function deficiency screening scale (SDSS) were used to evaluate patient depression status and social function before and after the intervention, And compared the quality of life and pain degree before and after the intervention. Results The treatment effectiveness rate of patients in the combination group was 97.50%, while the treatment effectiveness rate of patients in the control group was 80.00%. The response rate of the study group was higher than the control group, statistically significant (P<0.05); the difference of PSQI score between the two groups before treatment was not statistically significant(P>0.05). After 3 months of treatment, the PSQI scores decreased in both groups, and the PSQI score was significantly lower in the control group(P<0.05); the difference between HAMD and SDSS scores in the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).The HAMD and SDSS scores were lower in both groups after 3 months of treatment, and the study group was significantly lower(P<0.05); before treatment, the difference between BI and VAS scores between the two groups was not statistically significant(P>0.05). After 3 months of treatment, the BI score of the study group was significantly higher than the control group, and the VAS score was significantly lower than the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion In the treatment of depression with chronic pain, the combination of shu liver capsule and acupuncture can optimize the treatment effect, reduce the pain, depression and social function defects, and effectively improve the sleep and life quality of patients.
