Abstract: Objective To observe the clinical effect of external counterpulsation combined with traditional Chinese medicine decoction Yixin Decoction on coronary heart disease patients with qi deficiency and blood stasis type combined with cardiac insufficiency. Methods Selected 50 patients who met the inclusion criteria from January 2021 to January 2022 in the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, Tianshan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Changning District. They were randomly divided into an observation group (25 cases, receiving external counterpulsation + Yixin Decoction + conventional drug treatment) and a control group (25 cases, receiving Yixin Decoction + conventional drug treatment), The TCM symptom scores, cardiac function, 6-minute walking distance (6MWD), serum brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) and other changes were observed before and after treatment in the two groups of patients. Results Patients in the observation and control groups had lower TCM evidence scores and serum BNP after treatment, cardiac ejection fraction and 6-minute walking distance were higher than those before treatment (P<0.05). After treatment, the symptom scores of chest tightness and palpitation in observation group were reduced compared with control group, and the 6-minute walking distance, cardiac ejection fraction were improved compared with control group (P<0.05). Conclusion The combination of external counterpulsation with traditional Chinese medicine decoction Yixin Tang and conventional Western medicine treatment has a positive therapeutic effect on the six minute walking distance, BNP, and LVEF of patients with Qi deficiency and blood stasis type coronary heart disease combined with cardiac insufficiency compared to a simple Western medicine treatment plan. At the same time, it improves the clinical syndrome score of traditional Chinese medicine and benefits patients more in terms of quality of life.
