Abstract: Objective To investigate and analyze the current status of VTE prevention in geriatric departments of tertiary hospitals in Hangzhou, to organize and summarize the current status of VTE prevention, and to provide reference for further behavioral interventions. Methods A convenience sampling method was used to investigate the current status of VTE prevention in the geriatric departments of 16 hospitals in Hangzhou, and 120 nurses in their wards were surveyed by a self-administered questionnaire based on the theory of knowledge, trust, and competence. Results Nurses in geriatric wards scored (6.37±2.23) points on the current knowledge of VTE prevention, with a good grasp of basic VTE concepts and a score of 86.11%, and a lower score on risk factors for VTE, clinical manifestations and functional exercise, with scores of 61.02%, 60.78% and 50.78%. Multiple linear regression analysis showed that age, hierarchy, whether or not they were specialist nurses, and working years all had an effect on VTE prevention knowledge scores, the difference is statistically significant (P<0.05), respectively. Conclusion Nurses in geriatric departments of tertiary hospitals in Hangzhou have a one-sided knowledge of VTE prevention, VTE-related training is not well targeted, and the implementation of preventive measures in clinical practice Feasibility is controversial, and more managers are needed to specifically improve clinical VTE implementation pain points.
