Abstract: Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of triple local external therapy in the treatment of alopecia areata. Methods Selected 100 patients with alopecia areata from December 2021 to March 2022 in Guiyang First People's Hospital, which were randomly divided into two groups, 50 patients in each group. The experimental group was treated with triamcinolone acetonide compound solution intralesional injection+plum blossom needle pricking+topical scalp nutrition repair dressing, while the control group was only treated with triamcinolone acetonide compound solution intralesional injection. Alopecia areata severity score (SALT) and Chinese version of dermatological quality of life index (DLQI) were used to evaluate the clinical efficacy and recurrence rate of the two groups. Results There was no significant difference in salt scores between the two groups before treatment and at the first month of treatment (P>0.05). The salt scores of the experimental group at the second and third months of treatment were significantly lower than those of the control group (P<0.05); The effective rate in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05); There was no significant difference in the DLQI score between the two groups before treatment (P>0.05), and the DLQI score of the experimental group was significantly lower than that of the control group after treatment (P<0.05); There were no local or systemic adverse reactions in both groups. Conclusion The triple local external therapy is effective in the treatment of alopecia areata.
