Abstract: Objective To explore the effect of plan do check act (PDCA) management on reducing the complications after iodine contrast agent extravasation in CT enhanced scanning. Methods 220 patients with peripheral venous catheterization injected with iodine contrast agent in CT enhanced scanning at Department of Radiology, Shanghai Tongren Hospital from June 2020 to June 2021 were selected and randomly divided into control group and experimental group. Each group contained 110 patients. Routine nursing management was implemented in the control group and PDCA management was carried out in the experimental group. The leakage rate of iodine contrast agent, leakage volume, adverse reaction and patient satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results The leakage rate and volume of the experimental group were significantly lower than those of the control group. And the leakage of the experimental group was mainly mild, while there were a large number of moderate and severe cases in the control group. The difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions after extravasation of iodine contrast agent in the experimental group was significantly lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). The patient satisfaction in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group, which showed significant difference in statistics (P<0.05). Conclusions PDCA management showed significant effects on reducing the complications after iodine contrast agent extravasation in CT enhanced scanning. It can effectively reduce the incidence of adverse reactions after iodine contrast agent extravasation and r the amount of leakage, so as to ensure the safety of CT enhanced scanning.
