Effect of Auricular Pressure Combined with Fire Dragon Cupping Therapy on Postoperative Pain, Negative Emotion and Quality of Life in Patients with Missed Abortion

Abstract: Objective To observe the changes of abdominal pain, physical discomfort symptoms, quality of life, anxiety and depression in women with missed miscarriage after postoperative treatment with auricular pressure combined with the fire dragon cupping therapy. Methods Select 60 cases of missed abortion patients who were hospitalized in the gynecology department of Shenzhen Hospital of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine from September 2022 to September 2023 as the research subjects. They were evenly divided into an observation group and a control group according to the random number table method, with 30 cases in each group.The control group was given intramuscular oxytocin 20 U, qd, for 3 days. On this basis, auricular pressure combined with the fire dragon cupping therapy were added in the observation group.Symptoms of physical discomfort, Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) score, Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS) score, and quality of life were assessed. Results Two weeks post-operation, the incidence of lower abdominal pain in the control group was higher than in the observation group, with a statistically significant difference (P<0.05).At 8 hours post-operation and 2 weeks post-operation, the median level of discomfort in the control group patients was higher than that in the observation group, with a statistically significant difference (P<0.05).Two weeks post-operation, the median SAS and SDS scores of the control group patients were higher than those of the observation group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05). The median quality of life of the control group patients was lower than that of the observation group,with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05). Conclusions Auricular pressure combined with the fire dragon cupping therapy has shown positive effects on postoperative pain, negative emotions and quality of life in patients with missed miscarriage and provides comprehensive rehabilitation support for patients with missed miscarriage.
