A Study on Nurses' Attitudes Towards and Beliefs of Nurse's Prescription Right in Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospitals

Abstract: Objective To understand nurses' beliefs and attitudes towards nurse's prescription rights in traditional Chinese medicine hospitals,so as to provide reference for medical decision-makers. Methods Convenience sampling was used to select 1 397 nurses in traditional Chinese medicine hospitals that were assigned the scale of nurses' attitudes towards and belief in nurse's prescription right, and the results were statistically analyzed. Results The average score of the 1 397 nurses' belief and attitude towards nurse prescription right was (95.86±19.03);Nurse position and outpatient service were the influencing factors of nurses' beliefs and attitudes towards nurse's prescription rights, which together explained 5.2% of the variation;Nurses have high intention of prescribing with chronic diseases' patients useing long term drug(49.2%) and medical consumables(48.5%); Nurses in traditional Chinese medicine hospitals suggested that traditional Chinese medicine specialized nurses be given the right to prescribe traditional Chinese medicine nursing techniques; It is suggested that the prescription right should be given to traditional Chinese medicine specialized nurses after standardized training. Conclusion Nurses in traditional Chinese medicine hospitals have positive beliefs and attitudes towards nurses' prescription rights; For the qualification of nurses' prescription right access, factors such as working years, professional titles and positions of nurses should be comprehensively considered; Formulate policies, laws and regulations on nurses' prescription right as soon as possible; To construct the nurse drug formulary applicable to our country as soon as possible.It is suggested that traditional Chinese medicine specialist nurses should learn standardized theory and practice,have clinical syndrome differentiation ability and be strictly examined to obtain prescription right.
