Progress of Clinical Research on Red Yeast Rice(RYR)

Abstract: Red yeast rice(RYR) is a traditional Chinese medicine. Modern studies have found that Monaclin K contains RYR, which has the effect of lowering blood lipids. Therefore, statins developed and developed have played an obvious role in reducing blood lipids, reversing and delaying atherosclerotic plaques, and preventing and treating cardiovascular diseases, and have been recommended by various domestic and foreign guidelines. It is because of the effective use of statins that attention and research have been paid to RYR containing Monaclin K. In this paper, clinical research literatures related to RYR preparations, including drugs and health care foods, were collected, and the effectiveness, safety and precautions of clinical trials were reviewed, so as to provide reference for the use of red yeast rice preparations.
