Abstract: Retention of urine is one of the common diseases of the urinary system in elderly men. According to Chinese medicine, the disease is mainly caused by unclean diet, invasion of external evil, internal stagnation of stagnant toxins, internal injury of emotion and will, and physical weakness and prolonged illness. The location of the disease is mainly in the bladder, and the liver, lungs, kidneys, spleen and Sanjiao are the relevant internal organs. The urine is usually regulated by the Kidney Qi, the Lung Qi, the Liver Qi and the San Jiao, and is also affected by emotions, stasis, phlegm and fear. I have been in clinical practice for many years, and I have concluded in my clinical practice the identification and treatment method of draining heat, promoting the lung and clearing water, strengthening the spleen, tonifying the kidney and resolving dampness, and moving qi and relieving depression to clear the liver, with good results in patients.
