Abstract: Objective Explore the intervention value of ultrasound nebulization combined with recombinant human epidermal growth factor (rhEGF) eye drops in patients diagnosed with dry eye syndrome, and explore the effectiveness of combined therapy in reducing tear inflammatory factor levels in patients. Methods 80 patients with dry eye who received treatment at General Western Airlines Hospital from August 2020 to January 2023 were selected as the study subjects. They were randomly divided into the study group (n=40, receiving ultrasound nebulization combined with rhEGF treatment) and the control group (n=40, receiving rhEGF treatment alone) using a random number table method. The treatment effects of the two groups were compared, including tear film break-up time (BUT), tear secretion length, and corneal fluorescence staining (FL) scores, immunological indicators of interleukin-6 (IL-6) and tumor necrosis factor- α (TNF- α) , and subjective symptom scores between the two groups of patients before and after treatment. Results The total effective rate of intervention in the study group was 97.50%, which was higher than 85.00% in the control group (P<0.05); After treatment, the BUT level of the study group patients was higher than that of the control group, and the tear secretion length and corneal FL score were lower than those of the control group (P<0.05); IL-6 and TNF- α levels of patients in study group was significantly lower than that of the control group after treatment (P<0.05); The self-conscious symptom score of the study group patients after treatment was lower than that of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Ultrasound atomization combined with rhEGF has a good therapeutic effect on dry eye syndrome, which can promote tear film stability, reduce tear secretion and corneal damage, and also help improve the patient's inflammatory state and improve their self symptom score. It has certain promotion and application value.
