Research on the Cognitive Status and Influencing Factors of Osteoporosis in the Elderly in the Community of Fuyang City

Abstract: Objective To investigate the current status of knowledge about osteoporosis in the elderly in Fuyang City, and to explore its influencing factors. Methods A questionnaire was conducted on 220 elderly people in the community using general information questionnaire and osteoporosis related knowledge questionnaire. Results The knowledge about osteoporosis in the elderly in the community was relatively lacking. The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that age, body mass index, family history of osteoporosis, and diseases affecting bone metabolism were important influencing factors of osteoporosis in the elderly in the community (P<0.05). Conclusion Interventions should be actively taken according to the actual situation of the elderly to achieve early prevention, early detection and early treatment, so as to prevent and delay the occurrence of osteoporosis.
