Abstract: Objective To explore the effect of Shulidie combined with acupoint application on the levels of amyloid A (SAA) in elderly patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Methods 200 stable elderly patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) admitted to Baiyin First People's Hospital from June 2022 to November 2022 were selected as the study subjects. They were divided into an observation group and a control group using a random number table method, with 100 cases in each group. The control group patients were treated with inhalation of suletide, while the observation group patients were treated with suletide combined with acupoint application. The TCM syndrome score, lung function, and SAA expression levels of the two groups of patients were compared before and after treatment, and the quality of life before and after treatment was evaluated using the St. George's Respiratory Questionnaire (SGRQ). Results After treatment, the TCM syndrome scores related to chest tightness, shortness of breath, phlegm, and cough in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05); After treatment, the FVC, FEV1, FEV1/FVC, and PEF in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, while SAA was lower than those in the control group (P<0.05); After treatment, the observation group had lower disease impact, limited activity, respiratory symptoms, and SGRQ total score than the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion The combination of Suletide and acupoint application has a significant therapeutic effect on elderly patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, which can alleviate related symptoms, improve lung function, reduce SAA expression levels, and improve patient quality of life.
