Exploring the Relationship between Inadequate Health Preservation and the Pathogenesis of Insomnia Based on "Su Wen: Ancient Naivety Theory"

Abstract: The Book of Huangdi Neijing was the earliest existing medical literature in China, which was also called the three wonders together with Yijing and Shennong Bencaojing. This book comprehensively expounded the basic contents of the theoretical system of TCM, which had become the theoretical basis and sources of the development of TCM and was praised as the ancestors of TCM. At the beginning of Huangdi Neijing, it was said that the causes of human′s diseases lied in wrong-health-preserving methods. In order to guide TCM health preservation and clinical practice, this paper deeply analyzed the causes and pathogenesis of insomnia caused by wrong-health-preser-ving methods from seven aspects,including excessive drinking, arrogance, having sex after drinking, not living on time, violating the laws of the seasons, eating and drinking without restraint, hurting the Shenzhi, following the principle of integrity and innovation, based on the First Chapter of Shanggu Tianzhen in Suwen of Huangdi Neijing.
