Abstract: Objective To study the clinical efficacy, chronic outcome rate and safety of acute nonspecific low back pain with floating needle. Methods A total of 256 patients with acute non-specific low back pain from January 1, 2020 to June, 2023 at Shenzhen Pingle Orthopedic and Traumatology Hospital (Shenzhen Pingshan District Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital) were selected, depending on the patient's treatment method, they were randomly divided into a floating needle group and a control group, with 129 cases in the floating needle group and 127 cases in the control group. Both groups of patients were treated with traditional Chinese medicine package, and the control group was treated with Ibuprofen codeine sustained-release tablets and Eperisone hydrochloride tablets. The floating needle group was treated with floating needle on the basis of the above treatment; Compare the clinical efficacy, lumbar pain score (VAS), lumbar dysfunction index score (ODI), and finger to ground distance (FFD) between two groups of patients. Results There was no statistically significant difference in general condition, VAS, ODI and FFD between the two groups of patients before treatment (P>0.05).After treatment, the VAS, ODI and FFD of the two groups of patients showed a significant downward trend compared to before treatment (P<0.05). The clinical efficacy, recurrence rate, VAS, ODI and FFD of the floating needle group were higher than those of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Floating needle treatment of acute nonspecific low back pain can quickly and efficiently reduce pain, improve low back function, reduce the recurrence rate, short-term efficacy and long-term efficacy is good, worthy of clinical application.
