Abstract: Objective To investigate the application effect of discharge guidance scheme based on IMB model on perioperative patients with lung cancer. Methods A total of 106 patients who were admitted to the Department of Thoracic Surgery of Yunnan Cancer Hospital from April to October 2021 were selected. According to the order of admission, they were divided into control group and intervention group, with 53 cases in each group. The control group was given routine discharge guidance, and the intervention group was given discharge guidance intervention based on IMB model. The general data, the length of hospital stay, discharge readiness and discharge guidance quality of the two groups were compared. Results The comparison of the average length of hospital stay and discharge readiness scores between the two groups of patients showed that the observation group was better than the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The score of discharge guidance quality of the two groups was superior to that of the control group in all sub-dimensions and total score except the dimension of need information (P<0.05). Conclusion The discharge guidance scheme based on IMB model can shorten the hospital stay of patients, improve the quality of discharge preparation and guidance, and provide reference for improving the quality of clinical nursing and continuing nursing action.
