Abstract: Objective To investigate the effect of airway clearance technique combined with Tanreqing Injection on patients with stroke associated pneumonia undergoing tracheotomy. Methods A total of 80 patients with stroke-related pneumonia who underwent tracheotomy in Liqun Hospital of Putuo District, Shanghai and Tongji Hospital Affiliated to Tongji University, Shanghai from February 2019 to February 2022 were selected and randomly divided into observation group (gas Dao clearing technique + Tanreqing injection) and control group (airway clearing technique) with 40 cases each. The clinical efficacy, National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score and Clinical Pulmonary Infection Score (CPIS), procalcitonin (PCT) and white blood cell count (WBC) levels before and after treatment, and extubation time, extubation success rate and antibiotic use time were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the observation group, was significantly higher than the control group (P<0.05). The NIHSS score and CPIS score in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, PCT and WBC levels in both groups were significantly lower than those before treatment (P<0.05). The levels of PCT and WBC in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The extubation time, extubation success rate and antibiotic use time in the observation group were significantly shorter than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Airway clearance technique combined with Tanreqing injection is effective in the treatment of patients with stroke associated pneumonia after tracheotomy. It can effectively improve their neurological function, control lung infection, reduce the level of serum inflammatory factors, shorten the time of extubation, and improve the success rate of extubation.
