Abstract: Objective To explore and analysis the values of loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) technology in pathogen detection in patients with severe pneumonia. Methods From April 2020 to April 2022, 100 cases of patients with severe pneumonia who were treated in Ningxia Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine were selected as the research subjects. All patients were given LAMP technology and traditional sputum culture test. Traditional sputum culture test was used as the gold standard, to explore the clinical values of LAMP detection in the early diagnosis of severe pneumonia patients. Results In the 100 patients, there were 65 cases were diagnosed as single pathogen infection by traditional sputum culture, and 35 cases were combined pathogen infection. In the 100 patients, the average detection time of LAMP technology was (2.10±0.02)h, LAMP technology detected 21 cases of Streptococcus pneumoniae, 11 cases of Staphylococcus aureus, and 18 cases of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, 15 cases of Escherichia coli, 14 cases of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, 22 cases of Acinetobacter baumannii, 10 cases of Klebsiella pneumoniae, 9 cases of Stenotrophomonas maltophilia, and 22 other cases. LAMP technology judged 62 cases of single pathogen infection and 38 cases of combined pathogen infection. The sensitivity and specificity of LAMP technology in the diagnosis of pathogen combined infection in patients with severe pneumonia were 100.00% (35/35) and 95.38% (62/65), respectively. Conclusion Severe pneumonia patients are often accompanied by pathogen co-infection. LAMP technology can accurately and fast detect pathogen co-infection in patients with severe pneumonia. It has the advantages of short time and high specificity and has good clinical application value.
