Abstract: Objective To study the therapeutic effects of different surgical procedures on pregnant women with acute appendicitis and their impact on perioperative indicators. Methods A random number table method was used to divide 58 pregnant women with acute appendicitis at Shouguang People's Hospital from January 2020 to February 2023 into two groups (29 cases each). The control group received open surgery, while the study group received laparoscopic surgery. The clinical efficacy of the two groups was compared. Results The study group had shorter bed activity, anal exhaust, and hospital stay compared to the control group (P<0.05). On the 1st day after surgery, the levels of inflammatory factors, malondialdehyde, vasoactive intestinal peptide, and incidence of complications in the study group were lower than those in the control group, while the levels of oxide dismutase, gastrin, and cholecystokinin were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). There was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of gestational age, newborn body weight, and A-score during delivery(P>0.05) . The preterm birth rate and cesarean section rate in the study group were lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the comparison of abortion rates between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion Laparoscopic surgery has a milder inflammatory and stress response, less impact on gastrointestinal function, and faster postoperative recovery in patients.
