Abstract: Objective To explore the nursing effect and lumbar function impact of warm massage and massage along the meridian with Fuyang cupping instead of cupping on lumbar disc herniation. Methods 90 patients with lumbar disc herniation admitted to Liuzhou Liutie Central Hospital from January 2021 to December 2022 were selected as the study subjects. All subjects were divided into groups according to a 1:1 ratio using a random number table method, with 45 patients in each group. The control group was treated with general massage manipulation, while the observation group was treated with Fuyang cupping instead of hand warming massage along the meridian. The clinical nursing efficacy of the two groups was compared, and the pain and lumbar function of the patients before and after 7 days of nursing were compared. The quality of life was compared before and after 1 month of nursing, respectively. Results The total effective rate of clinical nursing in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group (P<0.05); before nursing, there was no significant difference between the two groups in the scores of the Japanese Orthopedic Association's Evaluation and Treatment (JOA), Osweatry Dysfunction Index (ODI), and Visual Analogue Pain Scale (VAS). After nursing, the JOA scores of the two groups increased, and the observation group was higher than the control group, while the ODI index and VAS scores decreased, while the observation group was lower than the control group (P<0.05); The quality of life related scores of patients in both groups increased after nursing, and the observation group was higher than the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Compared with conventional massage, Fuyang cupping with cupping instead of hand warming massage along the meridian can improve the clinical nursing effect of patients with lumbar disc herniation, reduce the degree of pain, further improve lumbar function, and improve the quality of life of patients.
