Abstract: Objective To investigate the clinical effect of combined treatment with Xuezhikang and statins in the treatment of primary hyperlipidemia and the effect on lipid metabolism and vascular endothelial function. Methods Clinical data of 72 patients with primary hyperlipidemia admitted to Rizhao Central Hospital from August 2021 to August 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. According to different medication methods, 36 cases receiving atorvastatin treatment were set as control group, and 36 cases receiving Xuezhikang combined with atorvastatin treatment were set as observation group. The clinical efficacy, lipid metabolism indexes, vascular endothelial function, inflammation levels, oxidative stress indexes and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, the levels of total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG) and low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) were lower than those of the control group, and the level of high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) was higher than that of the control group after treatment (P<0.05). After treatment, nitric oxide (NO) level was higher than that of control group, endothelin (ET) level was lower than that of control group, and there were statistical differences (P<0.05). The levels of CRP, IL-6 and TNF-α in observation group were lower than those in control group after treatment, and there were statistical differences (P<0.05). After treatment, the malondialdehyde (MDA) level in observation group was lower than that in control group, while the glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), superoxide dismutase (SOD) and total antioxidant capacity (TAOP) levels in observation group were higher than those in control group, with statistical difference (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion Xuezhikang combined with statins can improve the treatment effect of primary hyperlipidemia, correct lipid disorders, reduce inflammation and oxidative stress reaction, protect vascular endothelial function, safe and reliable.
