Abstract: Objective This study aims to summarize the prevention and investigation experience of the outbreak of rotavirus gastroenteritis in infants and young children in my country, so as to prevent similar incidents from happening again in the future. Methods Five newborns were screened and monitored for rotavirus and gastroenteritis from June 23 to 25, 2022, risk factors were identified and control measures were implemented according to epidemiological and environmental health laws. Results Among the 78 neonates who were hospitalized during the same period, 5 cases were infected. The incidence rate was 6.41%, and the accident duration was 10 days. The 5 cases showed obvious clustering in terms of space, time and population. Pollution and hand contamination are important routes of virus transmission. Conclusion An outbreak of nosocomial rotavirus infection was suspected. The epidemic has been effectively controlled by replacing hand sanitizers, improving hand hygiene compliance of medical staff, increasing high-frequency cleaning and disinfection of contact points, and implementing contact isolation measures.
